Introduction

The PCIS-8580-4S can expand 4 additional 5V PCI slots to your computer through a cable connection. Any PCI I/O cards, image capture cards, data acquisition cards, or motion control cards in an expansion chassis which is 10 meters away from your host computer. The PCIS-8580-4S is particularly useful for users who need extra 5V PCI slots, or want to place I/O devices in a hazardous environment or away from host computer. The PCIS-8580-4S utilizes the state-of-art ??serialized bridge??technology to expand the PCI bus. PCI bus signals are serialized and transmit in 4-paris, 622Mbps LVDS signals to provides a full 132MB/s PCI bandwidth and a maximal 10 meters expansion distance through a robust cable connection. Furthermore, the PCIS-8580-4S works as standard PCI bridges and is transparent to your computer system. That is, all your applications and drivers can be easily migrated to the PCI-to-PCI expansion system without any modification.
