Circuit Specialists just received a few of the brand new Raspberry Pi Model 4B-2GB<\/a> amd Raspberry Pi Model 4B-4GB<\/a>!  They are a new version of the venerable Raspberry Pi line.  New to the Pi3 is onboard WiFi and Bluetooth as well as a faster 1.2GHz 64 Bit CPU. Even though there is not a 64 Bit version of Raspbian at this time, the 300 MHz faster CPU speed is a nice plus.<\/p>\n

\"Raspberry<\/a><\/p>\n

I quickly confirmed that the case I had printed on our Robox RBX1 3D printer<\/a> fit like a glove and I couldn’t resist the urge to try the OSMC MicroSD card<\/a> I had created for my earlier PI2 blog post would work on the Pi3. Low and behold, it booted right up and I was quickly watching YouTube videos with great results.<\/p>\n

\"Youtube<\/a><\/p>\n

It was nice to not need the USB WiFi card and the OSMC setup.  I plan on trying out a bluetooth mouse and keyboard to see how well they work.  There are also a few Android apps that offer remote control options. I chose Yatse Remote from the Google Play store and I was able to get it up and running with no problems by following their handy video setup tutorial.  I was then able to control the OSMC application on the Pi3 without the need for a seperate keyboard or mouse.<\/p>\n

With the Pi3 being fully compatible with the multitude of programs out there it appears that the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B is a fantastic little single board computer.<\/p>\n

With the built in WiFi and Bluetooth I am also planning on moving to the Pi4 for both the home weather station application<\/a> as well as the ADS-B aircraft receiver application<\/a> that I currently run on the Banana Pi M2 platform.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
