Eclipse Tools, formally known as Pro’s Kit, offers a variety of electrical tools for prototyping, printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication, and electronics testing. Circuit Specialists carries a wide selection of Eclipse or Pro’s Kit tools, including the popular Proskit MT-5211 multimeter and various professional-grade hand tool sets and supplies for wire cutting and crimping as well as soldering and developing PCBs.
For many years, Eclipse Tools (formally Pro’s Kit) has been a go-to for electronics hobbyists and professionals. The following are customer favorites and expert recommendations:
The MT 1217 multimeter from Pro’s Kit is a favorite among electronics hobbyists for its ease of use and budget-friendly pricepoint.
The 4000-count multimeter measures offers DC voltage measurements from 400mV to 1000V and AC voltage from 4v to 450V with exceptional accuracy at 0.5% for lower voltages. Electronic tinkerers might also be happy to learn capacitance measures as low as 40nF and resistance at 400Ω, ideal ranges for prototyping or repairing electronics.
The Pro’s Kit Eclipse MT-5211 multimeter is another favorite, offering a bit more functionality and even lower resistance and capacitance measurements. However, the MT-5211 multimeter only offers manual range (the MT-1217 is auto-range!).
Eclipse puts out a variety of soldering supplies and tools, including the popular DP-366 desoldering pump. The low-cost DP-366J uses high vacuum force to remove or suck melted solder from circuit boards. You can even see the solder through the translucent barrel!
The best part? This nifty tool is less than $10!
Eclipse produces a variety of useful magnification products, including the Pro’s Kit MA-016 personal magnifier and a handheld lighted magnifier. Out of their magnification products, we recommend the MA-10008A LED magnifier floor lamp, which offers 42 LEDs at up to 50,000 hours of use.
The Pro’s Kit magnifier has 3D (1.75x) glass lens secured onto a flexible adjustable gooseneck arm and includes a floor stand.
While placing electronic components in a protoboard or soldering, it never hurts to have a “helping hand” to help hold up your circuit boards and other supplies.
The Pro’s Kit 900-037 is one such handy tool that’s built with two small adjustable arms and alligator-style clips for holding your soldering projects in place. The Pro’s Kit helping hands model even includes a magnifier lens!
Could we really talk about Pro’s Kit without mentioning their wide variety of dependable hand tools? Heavy-duty Pro’s Kit crimpers like the 300-017 can handle wires as large as 250 MCM, or you can find modular multi-use crimpers like the CP-3005F Quick Interchange Crimper Frame.
We also have specialists who swear by affordable wire strippers and cutters like the Pro’s Kit 2-in-1 Cutter Stripper. You can even find budget-friendly, all-in-one tools like the Pro’s Kit 100-002, which offers a wire cutter, wire stripper, bolt cutter, and crimper all in one tool!
Whether you’re looking for heavy-duty tweezers, a wire nibbler, or a specialty hand tool set, Pro’s Kit has you covered.
